Yup, its going ok, seems to be putting slightly more boost now as i'm getting 0.9 at times not quite the magic 1 bar tho.

Just come back from a little get together at vagparts and have some service items for it plus ordered a bush for the rear beam and some bearings for the swap to 5 stud.

Also saw the guy building my s2 engine to see how thats progressing Very Happy

Not yet, just sorted out paying for the lightened flywheel and the uprated clutch atm, picked up some of the old bits from the engine that I don't need and got a list of some stuff that I needed to source which was missing from the spare engine which I've got coming so its getting there.

I'll try get some pictures taken Very Happy

Should hopefully get some more pictures tonight.

The car now has a s2 steering wheel from my s2 as i've got something special to go on there Laughing

Also fitted a mint condition 5 speed gear knob (till I go 6 speed with it) which is a hell of a lot better than the rubbish one that was on the car.

I get a set of s2 clocks for it over the next few days so those will be going in to match the 3x clocks in the center console.

I've also started modding a standard saloon center console to take the diff lock switch as I really want to move the cig lighter from the center console to the pocket underneath the steering wheel so that when i'm using my sat nav and change gear it does not get knocked out.

My names not jamo Laughing

i'll comment here what happened today:

went up to my lockup where the s2 is kept along with my coupe gt to find someone had broken into all four lockups, nothing was taken atm so looks like they have just been scouting.

We've secured it for the moment better than what it was and my mate wired the door up on his to the mains so that should be entertaining Laughing

I know we could probably get in trouble for it but they should not be doing it in the first place so deserve all they get Razz

With regards to the steering wheel for the s2 I found a brand new in the wrapper rs2 steering wheel in black leather with the allen key headed center section

I saw one of those steering wheels in a very old skool mk1 custom transit van with a supercharged V8 a few years ago.. not in gold but it did look mint. gotta be in a 70's hot rod or custom van to work.

not the done thing in an audi though!!!!!!!! Laughing

If anyone catches a jolf off that door your mate is in serious serious trouble. Talking massive fine and possibly doing time here.

Personally I dont care if some scrote injures themselves breaking in somewhere but the law seems differently. I'd suspect the owner would kick him out for that as the owner is liable too.

i agree, as a sparky i've had a few 'tickles' and it isnt funny.

they do deserve it but the law really does take a dim view of playing with electricity like that, especially if the metal doors are rigged up to the mains.

Its done just inside the door so they'd physically have to get in and trespass on the property.

I'm sorting out a proper alarm and some lights and see what happens. Pita tho especially at this time of the year.

if someone puts their hand round a live conductor and there is no rcd or decent circuit breaker on the circuit, said hand would be stuck on the conductor until mr thieving toerag is brown bread.

A sparky in Leamington was fried a few years ago as he reached under floorboards and there was a live cable exposed in there which he couldnt let go of. poor sod.

they do deserve a good kicking, but i would disable that booby trap sharpish.

an electric fence power pack - you could run a wire from that and it would give enough of a shock to make someone seriously think twice, without doing any harm. Having leaned on them before, I know

Well I went and picked up a complete rs2 interior loom today so I can remove the trip computer wiring from the harness as thats the only bit i'm after out the loom. Should not be too bad just more involved than what the s2 version is from what i've seen.

I'm just sorting out a wheel bearing issue then i'll be getting the s8's on the car, the brembo's will soon be at mine then i'll be able to finalise whats happening with everything.

Why are you fitting the trip computer? you'll never get it to work.
Your ECU doesn't have a fuel consumption output.

Me and fitzy had a look at a couple of things today on the chipfat express, the main one was the bearing on the drivers side, we'd already looked at the passenger one which was not done up enough and made a lot of noise, the drivers side one was better but not the best in the world.

When he was putting it back together he noticed that I had a flat spot on the rear wheel, so we put the spare on as it has a brand new tyre on it and i'll get the other wheel looked at.

I have always had an issue at the rear of it with bushes/bearings so hopefully when I switch the rear over to 5 stud that will cure it, only other thing that we can think of is the big bushes that hold the rear beam on the car.

I tried finding a spare beam to refurbish it, but since its only avant one's its a bit more hard to find, coupe one's I could find tomorrow. I know a few breakers have them but atm its not top of my list and I think postage might be a bit high from say audibits2 in scotland tbh.

I'll try the new discs/bearings/wheels etc and see how I get on, if its still doing it then it will be a refurbished rear beam, I just would rather not go this far due to hopefully going quattro next year with it.

I also fitted a different boost gauge today as I got a rather nice HKS one from a friend, my old boost gauge is going in fitzy's tdi avant which is now wearing my old s2 bumper and a set of 17 inch oz volcano's. The cars coming along well and once he fits the lowering springs to it should be quite a head turner.

I also found him a rear bumper with towbar/removable ball on it so its getting closer to a replica (but with better economy)

Well had a few ups and downs tonight with the car, got a new boost gauge in the car a nice HKS item that I picked up last tues, all was going well even wired in fine till tonight when I was going up the m4 onto the m25 and I was wondering why the gauge was not returning back to nil. It was stopping about plus 0.4 bar, turns out the pipework had melted slightly (well went soft slightly) so I had to fiddle with that to get it to work fine afterwards.

I went and gave the car its first clean since I bought the car Embarassed and apart from the guy behind laughing at me sliding around on the ice trying to use the hand brush/gun all went well, pita tho but I prefer doing it manually than using a cheap and cheerful drive in one.

I then drove over to my friends place and found the locks had froze up again so had to use the boot to unlock it. then had to drive to my other friends and apart from finding that it was like pea soup with seriously bad fog the only other thing that I found was coming off the slip road on the motorway the car just slid and nearly took the side out a frontera thing. The weather was just that bad with seriously bad black ice.

Still nothing was broken and the car's been cleaned.
