I've done a bit of searching on s2forum and most people seem to opt for 15mm spacers all round which they say gives the best stance etc.

I have these on the rear of the S2, have used him twice (bought a set of 15mm 4x108 that I never used)
Paulgo also has some of these. Good bloke, good spacers.

Don't forget, the increased thickness of the mounting face of the hat on the A4 rear disc/hub is 5mm. So you get an extra 10mm overall increase of track on the rear to start with.

Thinking of 15mm for the front and 10mm for the rear atm.

Radius for OEM wheels. Taper for aftermarket.

Why? you get 10 new radius seat bolts and 10 new taper seat bolts with each pair of spacers.
No need to buy any more Wink

Looking good pete! cant wait to see the s8s on there!
As for the speedo, i have a 160mph speedo in my avant and its spot on, well 10% out, same 10% that the standard ones were, and i know that the 180 are the same as the 160 ones as i had them on my cq and again no difference. these were all gps tests on my satnav Confused

should say i only changed the speedo dial, not the whole dials so still oem rev ect....

I tested the s2 dials on the sat nav and found it over-reads by 8mph.

I am going to see what its like with the s8's on and if its anything better or not, if not think I might wait for some of bo's plasma gauges and sort out a set of them for in the car depending if he can do them for the lower top speed readings.

Still its getting there slowly.

true. If its over reading now must have over-red before on the old dials as they was 160mph.

I'm tempted to look into buying the tool to roll arches incase I need it to do mine. Problem is last time I checked it was £350 ish for a reasonable one. I do know someone that would roll the arches for me and do a very good job, just depends how bad it is once they are fitted as i'd have to drive it around 50 miles to his to have it done.

Well my projects changed direction lately, I just could not justify the cost of finishing off fitting the s8's in terms of it was cash that I could use elsewhere and for different projects.

I am currently looking to buy a spare car so me and my girlfriend can have a car for trackdays. I quite like the idea of the tdi as i've heard good things from s2avant and matts2 about the tdi avant's they used.

I have been looking for a nice set of rims that have center caps so it does not show that the car is just a 4 stud. I happened to ask stiglet to try on one of his azev a alloys to see what it would look like and if it went on ok, its 8.5j wide by 17 inch.

been trying to get him to sell them to me but atm he needs a set of track dedicated alloys. Black alloys on a gray car is still growing on me but I do quite like the idea considering eventually a few other parts on the car will be black.

I enjoyed driving the tdi in the snow, it went well enough but lacked traction badly Laughing needs quattro.... Still not sure if I will go quattro with this as its funds atm, I want a car for a track day car tbh as my girlfriend wants to go halves with me on one as well.

I never went for one in the end as i've got too many projects and too much on atm but i've seen them between £150-250 depending on what comes with them.

Still slow progress is being made, just want to tidy the car up atm.

I've since fitted:

new door rubbers all round
passenger side rear window motor to replace the non working one
different style grill with chrome rings instead of black

and I had a go at getting wheels for the car

and see thread hear explaining my experiences

http://www.audifans.net/ftopicp-181064.html#181064

Going to sort out new tyres for them after I come back from scotland and thinking of going wider at the rear and possibly at the front if possible since I have to spend out on them.

Plans now for the car is to tidy it up, hence if anyone has any titan gray panels in good condition i'm interested Laughing

and eventually I will quattro it just want to see how bolt on the setup is, and thinking of doing it differently and sticking with 4 studs so I can stick with these wheels as i've been after a set for a while.

Oh and fit the sideskirts that I have had sitting around for a while, got everything now just a bit unsure about riviting the necessary bits onto the car as I don't want to mess it up at all.

Since the cars off the road atm sorting a few things out I thought i'd do some of the things I had been putting off.

It now has s2 avant sideskirts on the car, just waiting for the fitting kit from audi before it can all be put on perminent.

I've also had to take one rim away to have it welded due to a split, should get that back early next week. Then its a major overhall of everything, shocks at front, bushes etc.

also got the proper rear lights to match the center panel now, going to remove the audi rings off the back then source some aero wipers if thats possible.

also sprayed up these two trims from blue to black, needs a small touchup but have not come out too bad.

and started wiring in the front fogs using some of this:

also just generally tidying up the car atm, i've got new seats to go in it same as these:

quattro script and with better bolsters and the pull out leg section all for the sum of £30 Very Happy

just got to get the heated seat elements fitted when I get them and thats the seating in the car sorted.

Its getting there slowly Laughing

The rear wiper of a Polo seems to be what people use on A4's (barely worth the cost as it's not that different to an A4 one IMO Rolling Eyes )

EBAY LINK HERE or failing that just an A4 Avant one looks a bit neater that your exisiting one Wink

Thanks for the interest, still progressing with this currently just tidying the car up now the majority of stuff is fitted.

They are from a audi 100 2.8 quattro avant. The one's in the top picture I picked up the complete car from here for £100 (currently parked up at home) and its when I first saw that style seats, I emailed a seller on ebay recently and picked up a pair of seats for £30 Very Happy

The seats do need modding, me and a mate used a pair of old seats and you have to mod one of the legs because they are too wide, apart from that they go straight in no problem. Very Happy Very Happy

Apart from the seats mostly been sorting out a few small issues, I now have bigger brakes to go on the car and a choice between standard 20v g-60's and Skoda vrs brakes if I get the discs drilled for the 4x108 pattern.

I've since changed the gasget above the inlet manifold (one between the im and EGR valve) as I found there simply wasn't one there to begin with and it does not smoke like it used to. Its getting a oil change and diesel filter change in about a weeks time.

Been slowly fitting the sideskirts from an s2 avant because audi don't know how to order stuff correctly and have been waiting for some push clips to finish fitting these. Side trims will be next as i'm waiting for someone to send me them down (i've already got the one's from the bodywork just waiting for the door one's.)

I have also been wiring in the front foglights so that it will finish off the center panel and they all light up work etc. Next task was the outside temp gauge (ATD) which is all wired in but just needs the ATD swapping for the spare one I have at home.
