The 2010 Le Mans Series champions will be crowned at the series finale at Silverstone on September 10-12 – and you could be there to wave the chequered flag.
The unique money-cant buy opportunity is on offer to anyone buying tickets for the Autosport 1000Km of Silverstone between June 14 and July 31 2010.
Every ticket purchased from the day after the blue-riband Le Mans 24 Hours will be automatically entered into a free draw for the chance to watch the Silverstone race along side top LMP1 squad, Audi Sport Team Joest, and wave the chequered flag as the winning car crosses the finish line.
With its blend of fast cars, glamorous women and vibrant party atmosphere, the climax of the action-packed series will see star names, such as Nigel Mansell, Allan McNish, Giancarlo Fisichella and Nicolas Minassian do battle.
Audi Sport Team Joest lead driver, Allan McNish, said: “The Silverstone race is obviously very important to me as a British driver. I haven’t raced there since winning the corresponding race in 2008.
“It’s the final round of this year’s Le Mans Series and, having won the opening race and placing third in the second, we’re likely to be well-placed in the Championship standings despite not contesting some of the other races.
“The additional importance of this year’s Silverstone race is that it’s the opening round of the inaugural ‘Le Mans Intercontinental Cup’, which also features the Petit Le Mans race at Road Atlanta (USA) and an event on the Asian continent in November – both races which I’ll be contesting, so I’ll be looking for a points haul on ‘home’ soil.”

It's back for a second year!
That's right, Tonbridge Audi are once again opening their doors for the day, September 17th 2011 this time round.
They will be opening up their workshops again for free diagnostics, checks and top-ups, this proved to be an eye opening experience for everyone last year,
not just the fact that we found out how our cars actually were, but also we very impressed at the level of knowledge shared by the Technicians, even towards
the older 80 & 90 variants and even back to Series 2's and UR's. They showed no knee jerk reactions to modified cars and even suggested helpfull tips towards
20v conversions and the like! They even topped up my screenwash, oil and coolant for free, plus we all got a goody bag with allsorts of stuff in. Free drinks and

Ported and polished head with ARP stud and nut conversion and Multi layer steel head gasket, bespoke Piper cams (reprofiled 7A’s), tubular exhaust manifold, ports polished on inlet manifold, bosch green injectors, competition paddle clutch, bigger radiator, bigger oil cooler, competition engine, gearbox and diff mounts. Running 304mm and 4 pots callipers but looking at 330mm and 6 pots. Hydraulic handbrake being fitted this time too. The car has to still have standard K24 turbo with 34mm restrictor and standard intercooler but thinking of fitting some water jets to aid intercooler cooling."

One million miles. That's the lofty goal Brian Burechails has for his 1986 Audi 4000 CS — and he has just 75,000 miles to go.
"When I get closer to the mark, I'll carry a video camera in the car," the 19-year-old Ontario native told us. "I want to record the odometer turning and the exact spot where I reach one million miles."
The Audi had over 800,000 miles, and was "up on blocks," when Brian bought it in 2001. Since then, he's refurbished the classic inside and out. "At the time, all I knew about Audi was that it had quattro, so I bought it as a winter car. But the minute I drove it, I knew this was the car I wanted to drive all the time."
Before he was an Audi aficionado, Brian was a speed enthusiast who loved working on cars. He'd tuned his previous car, a Camaro IROC, to over 400 hp, and once built a 65-mph lawn mower as a shop project. "I bolted a snowmobile engine onto a rider mower," he explained, "and tested it on a back road. It would have gone faster, but it was shaking so much I thought I'd better slow down."
Brian has turned his twin passions into a vocation: he's an Apprentice Service Technician at Crosby Audi in Kitchener, and has his eyes set on becoming a Master Technician.

2004-06-01 11:52:20  It looks like the punishment of the motorist by the Government is set to continue with backing from groups such as Roadsafe. Whilst we cannot support in any shape or form the breaking of the law, we are less than happy that the motorist continues to be a target for cheap gains by the Government/ Law enforcement.
Petrol prices are on the rise again, we pay increasing road tax, toll roads/bridges are going up (Forth Bridge going up!!!) and yet the government still want to hammer the motorist.
RoadSafe, however, welcomes the announcement that the Government is reviewing penalties for speeding and is looking forward to further announcements.
Adrian Walsh, Director of RoadSafe said: "Whilst we must remember that there is a tremendous amount of robust scientific evidence, that higher speeds mean more accidents, more severe accidents, and more deaths., we believe that penalties should be adjusted to the severity of the offence and penalties should always be seen to educate as well as punish"

2006-04-30 23:07:27 At a recent committee meeting, www.audifans.net site owner, and Audi Owners Club co-founder Andy Bowskill raised the point of online memberships, and the future of www.audifans.net as a brand.
The site has developed- and grown- with the help of ALL users. The birth of Audifans.net came about due to a major server failing on the club's site, and has been funded since by donations and (in the main) Andy's pocket.
The basis was to make an online portal for all UK audi owners, presenting all the press releases when they arrived, combined with support in the guise of forums, etc.
Things have progressed- the plan was basically to use the site as a "springboard" to showcase what the club, and it's members, had to offer. Not everything available to club members has been made public on the audifans.net site.
So, the question to you is this:- many find the site useful, for the help, the advice, the technical assistance, the news, the photo's (over 10,000 at last count) and the classifieds section. read more... |

Audi, the inventor of TDI, blazes a trail in the field of engine manufacture. At the 27th annual Lake Wörther Tour being held at the end of May in the Austrian province of Carinthia, the brand behind the four rings is showcasing this technology\'s potential with a sensational study. The two-liter TDI unit under the bonnet of the Audi A3 TDI clubsport quattro delivers 165 kW (224 hp) and musters up 450 Nm (331.90 lb-ft) of torque – the sort of pulling power normally associated with a sports car. The show car races from 0 to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in just 6.6 seconds and attains a top speed of 240 km/h (149.13 mph).

Distinct sports appeal, elegant style and supreme comfort - these are the characteristic features of the Audi A8. At the time of its market launch three years ago, this large saloon shot straight to the top of the luxury segment thanks to its dynamic qualities. You will all know Andy is a bit of a mad person - well he does spend huge amounts of time doing this site, running the AOC, etc. but this year he has gone into the realms of the beyond.
A stunning new take on the much lauded Audi R8 opens to the public – quite literally – at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show (September 17-27). The new R8 Spyder with fully automatic lightweight fabric hood brings added wind-in-hair intensity to the already extreme driving experience delivered by the lightweight aluminium, mid-engine and quattro-equipped super car. Based on the 525PS, 5.2-litre FSI model, but featuring a bespoke body incorporating additional weight-saving carbon fibre composite panels, the new open-air R8 will be available to order in the UK from November in six-speed manual and six-speed R tronic automated manual forms priced at £111,955 OTR and £117,155 OTR respectively.
