Happy Birthday Shorty!!

The Audi Sport quattro has just turned 25 years of age. In 1983, the \"Shorty\", as it was affectionately known, caused a sensation as the most powerful series-produced German car. It is thus logical that Audi Tradition will be represented at the 20th Techno Classica in Essen, Germany (from 26 to 30 March 2008) with the motto \"25 years of Audi Sport quattro\". The five featured series-production vehicles will not be the only highlights on the Audi stand in Hall Seven. As a special feature, Audi Tradition will be presenting the latest addition to its own historic collection: the Audi Sport quattro Group B rally car. There are only five remaining examples of this race car worldwide. New from this year: Audi Tradition will now be offering a strictly limited edition (333 units) 1:43-scale model car of the year, the first of which can be purchased at the Techno Classica. In 2008 this is an Audi Sport quattro in orange.

Best cars: Four Audi models top the list

Audi has repeated last year�s success in the reader poll of one of Germany�s leading automotive magazines. The readers of auto, motor und sport (ams) magazine placed Audi models in first place in four classes.

�The reader poll is an important indicator for us. And Audi�s success with ams readers shows us that we�ve got the right products,� said Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, upon being presented with the commendation. �At the same time, the great results are an incentive for the entire team.�

New engine versions for Audi A4 and A5

Audi continues to expand its successful A4 and A5 model lines. The new entry-level units add to the range of available engines. The 1.8 TFSI engine is available for the Audi A4, where it generates 88 k (120 hp) in combination with a manual transmission, and for the A5, where it develops 125 kW (170 hp) in combination with the continuously variable multitronic transmission.

High Performance Audi TTS Debuts In Detroit

The �S� emblem that spells extraordinary performance in the Audi range graces the TT for the first time this month in a new, even more focused version of the iconic sports car debuting at the North American International Auto Show (January 19-27). Destined for the UK in mid-2008 in both Coupé and Roadster body styles, the TTS earns its esteemed badge through the adoption of a specially developed, 272PS Turbo FSI petrol engine complemented by state-of-the-art chassis technology.

Audi is presenting a revolution in the top class at the Detroit Auto Show 2008 � the first 12-cylinder diesel engine in a high-performance roadgoing sports car. The V12 TDI with a displacement of six liters powers a concept car based on the Audi R8. This unit generates a huge 500 hp and 1,000 Newton-meters (737.56 lb-ft) of torque. Audi is writing a new chapter in diesel technology with this power unit. Equipped with the expertise that Audi has built up through its motor sport activities, the R8 V12 TDI in matt \"Grace Silver\" embodies superb road handling, pioneering technology and fascinating design.

Ekström defends title in Race of Champions

Exactly two months ago Mattias Ekström clinched the title in the DTM to celebrate one of his biggest exploits. This weekend the Audi driver has the great opportunity to make 2007 a \"dream year\" for sure: At the new London Wembley Stadium the 29-year-old Swede will defend his triumph from last year in the \"Race of Champions\" as well as competing in the classification of nations as \\\\Team Scandinavia\\\\ together with his Audi teammate Tom Kristensen.
