Hi Cabrio80,
1.What kind of engine oil do you use? Viscosity, ...
A. At present i use a fully synthetic 5w-40 Millers Oil.
Previous to this I always used the Quantum fully synthetic 5w-40 platinum oil from the Audi dealers, both changed every 5000 miles or 6 months which ever comes first.
Before the Quantum Platnum (many years ago, i used the 10w-40 Quantum synt withe the same oil change service.
Many say this is overkill but it has served me well, on of my 90's i drove from 75,000 miles when i purchased it, to over 290,000 miles, never used or burned oil between changes.
So draw your own conclusions.
Although you live in a much warmer climate, so there is probably no need to go lower than a 10w-40, a 10w-50 may be more suitable for you? Again i am not an expert, and you should probably ask a local dealer as to what is reccommended in your climate.
2. When the engine is cold does the oil pressure gauge goes to max (5 bar)? And with the engine warm, what oil pressure can you read?
A.
Yes when the engine is cold at idle my oil pressure gauge shows 5bar, at idle once up to temp it sits between 1.5 & 2bar.
Hope that is of some help.
best regards
Dan. |

in pic 2, it's the large sensor above your circle which does your pressure gauge.
I have to say it looks in a poor state - have you got a water leak just above it ? |
Actually, as well as that- if you look, one connector isn't connected. Clean that up with emery cloth/ wire wool and reattach the wire and it may work..... |

Dropped 40mm on a set of Spax springs from venom motorsport £108.
I'm told it will drop a bit more in a few hundred miles, but to be honest I like it as it is, subtle! My favoutite improvement is that it now corners flat....... no more sea sickness lmao |

Actually had a complete nightmare of a time replacing the springs. I started with the rears as there where no special tools required ie slotted nut remover, spring clams or ball joint separator.... One of the top nuts on the rear shocks took forever to remove, trying to grip the top with vice grips and turn the nut quarter turn at a time with a spanner The fronts where done in no time at all with the correct tools! |

It's been a while from I have posted in this thread, actually not sure I have done a lot except drive the car the last year and a half lol.
Or at the least not done much that warrents taking pictures of lol.
I changed the dampers to uprated versions, changed all of the bushings and mounts in one go so as not to be chasing them in an endless circle round the car every few months .
Lost a few mud flaps as they kept catching when reversing into the garage (I have to reverse downhill so they cought between the ground and the tyres (my fault due to lowering) so need to look into a nice lower profile flap somewhere. Any ideas?
Fitted some Team Heko wind deflectors, great job, no screws clips or glue, they just fit, after a few unsuccessful attempts with other brands!
Not the best picture, more will follow in the next few weeks, it's that time of year when a full clay bar, polish and wax is due lol.
Nearly 4 years (and 20,000 miles to burn the tyres off the steel wheels) later the 15" Ronal Aero's Scotty33 donated to me are finally dipped, straightened and powdercoated.
They look better in real life than the picture.
So a big thank you very much again my friend!
