rough wheel bearing ?
They're having a laugh.
If it's not worn to excess, how can it fail |

Exact words are
"Nearside Front wheel bearing feels rough when rotated"
"Nearside Rear wheel bearing feels rough when rotated"
I knew the rear was a bit noisy but did not appear serious. |

All sorted
Took out the old cat and it was fairly obvious why it was not working as a cat, nothing inside it, just a big turbulance box
So new cat, new 02, (made sense whilst i was there), new plugs and air filter and thats the emissions sorted (due to the new cat i am guessing but the service parts are good to change anyway)
CV boots straightforward.
New rr caliper as mine was leaking out the handbrake mechansim
Wheel bearings - I got the complete front strut off the car for easyness and took the complete rear hub/arm assembly off, started looking at drifting the bearings out, mashed the inside out of one, leaving the outer race and decided to get somebody to press them out and the new ones in whilst there was still a lip to press. First time I have paid somebody to do something to my car
An FYI for anybody removing the complete hubs with the abs sensor attached (saves damaging it attempting to remove it) There is a plug in the sensor wire under the radiator header tank for the NSF and under the rear seat for the NSR (thanks michael)
So sorted for another year

Nothing exciting done, just tidying up a few bits; fixed fuel gauge sender, fixed exhaust rattle ( heat shield on cat broke loose so welded back on), tidied up previous shitty weld behind cat and fitted an Audi sleeve joint, fitted timing belt cover and back on 15" multispokes
Got a bulb to change in the dash, then a wash/clean and she will be going up for sale Sad but it will let me get the s2 on the road.
