wozman,

I found that when I used a 1.2W bulb it wouldn't start flasing the
sequence intermittantly...
using a 1W bulb I had no problems.....

that ECU has some kind of trigger value... the 1W or 0.8W bulbs
light up faster... I think the 1.2W is to "slow"

Did anyone get the codes from a 2.6 Audi in the end ?
I ask because comparing all the combinations of ECU's and engines is starting to make my brain hurt. I have dismantled the dash and got the ecu out so it's sitting in the passenger footwell but am at a bit of a loss as to which of the pin on what plug (16 pin 'C' connector according to what's been posted) I should be splicing or following.
Is there a definitive answer as to whether a 1995 2.6 cabrio will have all 4 wires to the OBD 2x2 connectors in the fusebox connected or only 3 ?
The drapers engine code tool I bought off ebay doesn't work but it says it will on the 100/A6 2.6 engined model and nor does the cheap vag-com cable ..
I'm lost !
Will any reader work on the car ? Will I have to splice wires to get any reader to work ?

Please help ..
