How do you remove the rear bumber on a D2 S8? Sam, this should be an easy one for you.

Thanks very much.

Steve

Hang on. That should be 'bumper'! But then you all probably guessed that.

Sorry Steve...somehow I missed this post. Maybe you've figured it by now?

Remove 2 large allen bolts visible from under the bumper that attach the structure to the 2 impact absorbers. The whole thing pulls straight off. It is held on the sides by brackets on the body that the bumper slides onto.

You may also need to take a few screws out of plastic panels underneath the car, if they get in the way of removal. I took mine off a long time ago and seem to remember that...but it's not mentioned in the manual...just the 2 big bolts.

Hope you're doing well my friend.

Cheers,

Sam

Hi Sam Thanks very much my friend. I haven't done it yet as I'm waiting for the parts I need to do the job. I'm replacing the trim strip between the bumper and the body after a brain dead local went into the back of me. Ho hum!

I'm well thanks but had a very traumatic experience when I was home last month. Have a read of this. http://www.audifans.net/ftopict-37938.html

Keep well

Steve

Holy Crap, Steve!!

Amazing you weren't permanently maimed or killed...good thing you were wrapped in a protective coating.

I would be out for mechanic impersonator blood and nothing less....inexcusable and nothing short of criminal incompetence.

Please don't let up until you get justice.

Glad you're OK and hope you stay that way.

Sam
