So my Sat-Nav (Audi RNS-E) is playing silly beggars - showing no satellites detected. Rather than doing what my TomTom would and fessing up, the RNS-E makes up a location 3-6 miles away and a random direction and carries on showing a ficticious location. Entertaining that this is, it's rather annoying.

It's not critical as I use a TomTom for serious stuff (7-digit postcodes, traffic updates, camera locations) with the in-car as a 2nd level backup if I don't have either the TomTom or a 3G signal, but if it's not too much hassle I'd like to fix it.

The probable cause is the combined radio/GPS antenna on the roof - an old-style bee-sting type. The question is, how easy is it to replace? Oh yes, and how expensive is a replacement?

Cheers,

Andy
