I bought my Cq about 2 years ago for the bargain price of £700, it was a reasonable condition car, broken air-con and the only really bad point for me was the paint; bonnet, bumper, wings and drivers door have been repainted some time ago a slightly different shade, all pannels are badly faded tho.

the first modification i did was a set of KW variant 2 coilovers, best modification to date on any car!!

I then removed the air con, fitted front and rear superflex wishbone bushes, an Alpine headunit and new speakers.
here are some pictures of its first trip to the Nurburgring with some friends:

It was great fun and surprised me how well it did
Wheni got back i got some 17" Azev alloys, unfortunately these scrubbed badly on hard cornering and i wasn't willing to raise the car up so eventually sold them a few months on.

soon after i fitted a custom full stainless de-cat system from Pro-speed with a tubular manifold and some 034 injectors.

couple of pics from my easter ring trip......after some light offroading Very Happy

For the past 6 months my car has sadly been off the road as i bought my daily driver due to me doing lots of miles for work and the cq just isn't efficient enough surprisingly Laughing
i have however been collecting some parts for its eventual upgrade and restoration, these include:

electric rear windows (fitted)
black quattro script interior
leather interior trim (fitted)
S4 TT 6 speed Gearbox
ABY prop and front drive shafts
S2 hubs
ABY front anto roll bar
ABY steering rack
whiteline rear anti-roll bar
S4 TT 17" Avus alloys
S2 bumper
B4 bonnet and fittings
Torsen rear diff
And others i cant currently remember....

Soon i will be starting to get it back on the road, this will include fitting the hubs, wheels, interior, gearbox and shafts, anti-roll bars and steering rack. hopefully this will be sorted ready to tax and text by march.

i will then be fitting the rest over time through out the year. including front and rear brake upgrades, and possibly a re-spray if i have time.

Hope you like the project and iwelcome anyadvice/opinions
Smile

Cool very cool looking car! shame about having to get rid of the black azev's Sad out of interest how much the coilovers set you back?

Main thing to do is just get it road worthy and legal again, this is what madwolf needs to do so you keep interest in the car.

(reminds me I have an s2 that i've done 10 miles in the last 6 months in)

yeah thats the plan, to fit as much as i can before my pay check comes in end of april and then i'll tax and insure it.

The 034 injectors are good, its just noticable increase in power, smothened out the flat spots. you do have a slight reduction if fuel echonomy although its not too bad 2-3mpg i think. had issues after fitment as i didnt realise you needed to prime them first Embarassed but 3 of them birst into life straight away, last 2 needed a 5 min drive to get going....

things on my list still to get are:

235\40-17 tires
10mm spacers
034 offset subframe bushes
superflex front anti-roll bar bushes
034 track density engine and transmission mounts
01E gearbox mounts
Elipsoid headlights

if anybody knows about an of these for sale let me know Very Happy

brakes were just okay, you need bigger than 15" wheels tho cos its the heat that kills them, i have track pads on them too.....they really are at the limit on this car. anything heavyer or over 200bhp and you have to uprate...they just cannot cope, i am trying to sort something using the porsche 4 pot gt3 or boxter and about a 345 disc for the front, then try and fit b7 s4 brakes on the rear....

damn it Pete why do you have to always tell me these things after!.....if its too late dont tell me Laughing Laughing

tbh all i need is track wheels now so i'm not rly looking for heavy dished wheels unless some happen to come up at a bargain, and also theres not a chance of the Azevs fitting round porker brakes, spokes foul the caliper by about 5 mm Sad

well i started work on the CQ today, fitted the two transmission mounts to the rear diff and gave the interior a bit of a tidy....noticed a few things not working or broken that i had forgotten about or that have come about since its been sat. no big things, just passenger poor handle has a tear, dials not working, arial starting to separate from the roof ect.....obviously these are all things that take time and are issues but since the whole interior and the engine and gearbox are coming out i am counting them as not serious Laughing

The car is mechanically all hooked up now and am just waiting for my friend to have a free evening to trailer it to the university motor club which is where i will be doing the work. once its there i am hoping progress should speed up and i can get this done quickly.

a Friend of mine is organising a track day for his birthday on the 23rd May so i'm using this as a deadline and hopefully it will be sorted and ready by then, however i am going to take my time and refuse to rush things...even if i do miss my deadline Confused
