That is an amazing looking build. I take my hat off to you for going to such an extreme. I am waiting with baited breath for the next instalment. And to see the finished result. Very Happy

Having been for a spin around the block.... I have just been pulled over by a nice police man for having no lights....... or engine, gearbox, door, etc Laughing

Fortunatly SteveT63 the police man was an avid Audi fan and let me continue taping bits on to get some inspiration to continue what seems like endless welding...

Yes I plan to take it on the road infact I have just purchased a private plate for it also to make it look like it was registered in Ingolstadt

Massive issues with "quatt ronics" and 034 caused huge delays, also the moulds of the panels took a lot longer to fabricate than expected. But the shell has now been blasted and primed and I am on with the roll cage.

Came accross this old post so I thought I would give it an update....

Well the shorty has been sat in the corner now for a long time while I have been collecting parts for it...
It's now a rolling shell and just needs the bodywork guys to sort it out and get it painted... I have been painstakingly piecing original pieces together and at each stage have had most parts reproduced so the next one can be completed very quickly.

For those who know me, know that I have not been sat on my bum doing nothing. I have converted one of my 80 cabriolets to 3B 20v, a 90 typ85 to 20v, Almost finished a lwb sport quattro. so have neglected the shorty a little.

Here is a few pics to wet your tastebuds.....

They are Recaro Classic C's, lots of adjusment and support. They were fitted in the genuine sport quattro's but were are brown ish colour. I found these that were out of a top spec merc of the same era. They are exactly the same as the sport ones but have the added heating element and they are electric adjustment also. Very Happy
