Hi guys.
I am thinking of getting a hard top for my cabriolet. I keep hearing story's of the fitting kit. They say that its very very hard to get hold of, audi do not sell it anymore, and it is bespoke to the 80 cabriolet.
Is there any truth in these ?

Also, to the guys who already own a hard top, what is the fitting kit ? Ive heard its two bolts and a couple of wiring looms for the heated screen ?

Thanks in advance.
Russell

I'll try and help with some info here...

There is no separate wiring loom(s). The hard top comes with it's own cable (to heat the rear screen) and this plugs into the existing loom of the car. The existing cable to the soft-top blower runs up to the top of the car (and has an in-line connection mounted there) then back down to the blower motor, you 'break' the connection and insert the roof's cable into the blower's cable connector.

There are two parts to the fitting kit: upper and lower:

Hopefully, your hard-top should come with the upper kit on and also should have the lower kit included. It is a fairly simple fit for both, I have a pdf document showing the sequence and would be happy to supply that to whoever would like it.

HTH.

PS Since getting my hard-top last year I now have a garage to put my cab in, so might consider selling it. Wink
