A couple of months before I had the water pump, radiator flushed and a few rusty coolant pipes replaced I changed my 'manky' header tank for a mint clear header tank. A couple of months down the line and I have greasy/oily film on the inside at the top Evil or Very Mad

Has anyone managed to get theirs clean on the inside or is replacement (again) the only option ?

Have tried a gunk solution, bleach even wonder wheels Rolling Eyes left overnight but its still not shifting !
....And no my heads are not weeping as I have had compression and a sniff test so I can assume this crap has come off the new water pump and pipes etc !

If it is oily, something caustic like sodium hydroxide solution or probably soda crystals solution will shift it. Both in supermarket, maybe called drain cleaner? The sodium hydroxide is not good with alloy.
