Kinda hoped that the seatbelt reels or the dodgy petrol/fuel guages would have been part of a recall, the seatbelt reels on the Saab's were!
I think the answer to the question was most likely NO! |

When I had the central locking unit out I noticed the seat belt started to retract really fast again. Looked like it was grinding on something near the top. Meant to investigate it further.
The german forums swear by this stuff to cure the problem.

Worse I had a fine two months ago for not wearing the belt, when I was!! Police car that drove past me could not see I was wearing it. Argued with them and highlighted the design was pillarless and you would not see the belt but it was pointless. Claimed I pulled it on after I was pulled over. £60 down the drain. |

Bad news about the fines, unfortunately there's little comeback unless you have video evidence!
I'm definitely going to be looking for a can of this stuff, it looks like miracle juice, I'll be wedging it in every corner! I'll get rid of the creaks and groans from my dash/windows! |

The one thing the German forums did say was that for best results you have to wash the belt with soapy water before applying the PTFE. One guy described a black gunk coming out of the belt!
Most seem to speak of positive results, with the belt operating like the first day it left the factory. A few said it took a couple of days for any effect, One however did say the result were disappointing. |

I always thought the wee part the belt comes out of seems to get squashed down on the belt, possibly from people climbing in and out of the back squeezing down on it... |

Mine is poor and I never have anyone in the back. Did think the panel trim was increasing the friction around where it disappears into the body. Just not got the time to look into it at the moment.
I will be looking for a can as well. Here is the UK agent.

That's as far as I got with my search, so i have emailed them, fingers crossed.
I wasn't meaning with the panel itself, but the part that comes out of the top of the panel, there's a bit of trim that looks like it's not really supported enough underneath to avoid being squashed, the part that covers where the belt goes in. If it's got a technical term I'd imagine it would be something like belt inlet cowling....
If it's really that good and stops dashboard squeaks, we could probably easily sell 100 to VAG owners! I have been in brand spanking new golfs with squeaky dashboards, just seems to be a vag thing! |

Certainly going to give it a go! This company is a mile or so from where I live so will drop in and see if I can pick up a can when I get some time. |

Finally got up to this place today. The business does not exist at this address - at least one recognised it!
Anyway emailed the UK office. They do mail order with a credit card but you need to buy 12 cans.
Art No: Description £ per piece
6530.5650 S419 DRY LUBE WITH TEFLON 400ML 12.45 x12 = £149.40
Shipping = 6.20 (Highlands and Islands = £12.50)
VAT = 31.12
Total = £186.72 (Highlands and Islands = £194.2
I might regret this - but is anyone interested in a can at this price - £15.50 plus postage? |

I might regret this but I will buy a pack of the cans and put them up on ebay.
I will start a new post on a seat belt repair to see if it works and pick up everyone elses experiences!
New baby and new house are slowing me up at the moment on working on the cab. But at least its got a new garage |
