I have a 1992 2.3 Convertible which for some odd reason stalls for no apparent reason. I was sitting at a set of lights yesterday, car was idling as normal, then the battery light came on and the car just died on me.
Then it wouldn't start. All the normal ignition lights come on, fuel pump whirred into life, engine turned over but would not fire. This happened twice, then it wouldn't even turn over. All the dash lights and fuel pump were still working but all I got was a "click". I left it for about a minute, tried again and the damned thing fired into life as if there was nothing wrong!
It has done this a couple of times in the last 2 weeks - which is the time I have owned it for. It has a Clifford Concept 300 alarm & immobiliser fitted, I wondered if it could be in anyway related to this, or just something completely different. My husband is a pretty handy mechanic, but so far this has got him flummoxed since he's not an expert with the electrics.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I would be eternally grateful.
Thanks.
Sadie.

Sounds like the immobiliser. Suggest you run the diagnostic check to rule out injection.
