Hi has anyone had both rear brakes binding at the same time came home tonight and both back wheels stinking hot so much so that the paint on my speed lines had bubbled up on one, just thinking is it just the brakes binding or could it be back pressure in the line, I have fitted a new pressure regulator about 12months back has anyone had problems with these
Thanks

Have never had calipers seize that badly, and both at the same time sounds v unlikely, nor have I had regulator problem but I'd be looking into that.. also check the handbrake mech isn't binding somehow first.

hadn't spotted the quattro bit when I replied.

I'd be checking the handbrake adjustment and the calipers. Are they up against the stops with the handbrake off and is the cable slack or tight

Thanks for that just thought I would check to see if anyone had the same problems before I get under it and have a look which will be tomorrow morning with a bit of luck, I have had the car back on the road 12months now after it had been laid up for a few years, I had rebuilt the brake calipers but the cables have been on since it was new(I have had the car since 1988) may be that is the place to start.

I have had seized/sticky calipers (handbrake mechanism) and sticky cables, did exatly what you desribe if the handbrake was used, it came on and would not back off.

Sticky pistons I would say are more unusual, get the wheel off and do some footering.
