Hi all,
Im slowly peicing back together an Audi 100s coupe 1974 and ive got most of the electrics working after cleaning switches and replacing the fuse box and faullty relays.
The car was fire damaged some 15 years ago due to the rear squab touching the battery! Unfortunatly the fire damage although minor left acids and things corroding wires, heater controls and some of the not so well protected metal work. Ive spent a few hours cleaing and testing and im lucky that most things are now working with minimal problems.
I have a small problem im not sure whats happening, as the brake cooling fan is running al the time the ignition is turned on. The wiring diagram I have is very small and doesnt seem to show the circuit for the fan motor.
From what i can see so far is that it looks like it runs of a relay when the brake switch is activated but im not certain?? The brake switch wiring needs repairs so will do that next.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram that shows the fan circuit and perhaps the coupe wiring in a bigger form than the owners manual and the poor drawings in the older Haynes manual.
Cheers
Mike

Hi there,
I've got wiring diagrams for your Audi 100 at work.
There's a lad over on Classic-Audi called Stu67 who knows his way around 100's. I've got a '72 myself but to be honest, electrics scare the hell out of me.
Depending where on this planet you are, I may be able to point you in the direction of someone who can assist

Thanks for the reply! You certainly have a collection of early Audi cars! I think Im about as far away from the Uk you could get down here in New Zealand!
I guess im going to need a scan or a pdf file of a wiring diagram via email or on a website somewhere.
Im ok on electrics thats why i got the job of getting this car all working for a good friend. Found a few things connected wrong and the car was converted to manual along time ago so I suspect the brake cooling fan was a tempreture controlled fan from transmission oil temp??
I have it running now by converting its relay to operate of the brake light switch, its probably un-neccessary in reality but it might as well do somthing useful. It was a simple change of one wire but i still have a few other issues to resolve so i nice clear diagram would be helpful!
Cheers
