I bought this car in May 2010 and since then iv basically used it as an on the road project, I dont really need to use the car to much so iv been able to do anything needed. The paint was quite a mess when I bought it and was in need of new suspension etc. I fixed most of the paint but I had to spray the drivers side which turned out quite well.
So.. this is the pics from the advert when I bought it. 2.0 8v ABK engine, pretty good on fuel and never broke down on me once in my 2 years of ownership!
Then I started experimenting with a few things..
Coupe bumper and headlights
Gave the arches and floor a good clean and a coat of white hammerite. Aswell as replacing track rod ends, brakes, calipers, droplinks, steering rack etc. Bought a 60mm Shocks and springs set and new top mounts aswell.
Then finally managed to find an S2 avant rear bumper and some temp Saab turbo wheels
Got a half leather interior, VDO gauges and S2 Steering wheel.
Then another set of wheels 17" Kahn Reps this time and an S2 front bumper
Finally got a set of wheels I actually like on it. 17" Lenso Riesens, brand new with brand new tyres for a very cheap price of ebay!, also added yellow headlights and fogs.
Then after a few months I de-yellowed the lights and went for an all clear slightly smoked look. Also got a custom cat back powerflow stainless exhaust.
This is how the car currently stands..
Iv done all the work myself including painting the bumpers, drivers side etc, its had alot of blood sweat and tears put into it but iv never had a car that puts as much of a smile on my face everytime I jump in it than this does.
Thanks for looking and always open to comments and constructive criticism

I'd agree, in earlier pics the indicator lenses are clear...but now you have all clear lenses, except for the indicators?
Clear lenses and silver vision bulbs would finish that right off
lovely car though |

I missed the last bit of text when I first read through, sorry...
Lots of respect to you for doing it all yourself mate, always gets a thumbs up from me
I know what you mean too, I've had 3 different fronts on my Mazda 323...I thought I'd nailed it, and then my dream splitter became available from the states, so I bought that and it changed once again
Keep up the good work mate |

Yes they are, I got them off a mate, not sure if he's on here, but they are the only set I have ever seen as iv been having a look to see if you can buy new ones anywhere but never seen any. Iv checked German ebay aswell. They have a VAG stamp on them so not sure if they were a rare option when new or what. |

Not been on or updated this in a long long time!
Done quite alot to the car in my absence!
Also seen a wee picture of it in the banner at the top, that was a nice surprise!
Anyway.. i'll let pictures do the talking
Got rid of the horrible grey interior and put a black one in...
Fitted Mk3 Golf recaro seats, still need to sort the rears but i'l get round to it.
Then managed to get a set of mint ellipsoids. Made such a difference!
Also got new wheels, Their just reps but I dont really see the point in running £1000 wheels on a car that gets
used quite abit for them to inevitabley get damaged in one way or another.
Few pics with my Dads Beetle.
Cars now in bits again..
Got new front wings, suspension, wishbones etc all to go on and its going away to get painted soon to freshen it up
for the summer.
Let me know what use thing, comments and constructive critisicm always welcome |

Cheers for the comments, Iv had, cloth seats, half leathers and full leathers in the car but the recaro's are by far the best seats iv had in it. will be alot better when I get the rears re-trimmed to match aswell.
Not to keen on the black lights, quite like the standard items. |

No mate, mk3 rears mount differently, there may be a way to get them to fit, need to have a proper try.
Cheers for the comments.

No build thread as such, plenty photos of it along the way though. Really need to put them all together. Basically had new floorpans, sills, inner wings, wing etc etc. Ooh nice! Iv got an engineless 73 aswell. Never got round to doing anything with it though |
