I've recently bought a 97 Audi a3 as a daily commuter, reason being the b roads where i live have shaken my 172 cup to bits so its time to part Sad

But im a bit of a tinkerer and cant leave nothing along, hence the project thread Very Happy

So here goes.......

Bought the car standard with a few problems, which were easy sorts.

Drivers door would'nt open from the inside, replaced the pull cable.
Rear wiper would'nt work, loose wire.
I could hardy see driving it at night, nothing to do with my eye sight!
and it needed a damn good clean, actually made me fell sick driving it to my work after buying it.

So i gave it a good clean which took hours. Then i took the hid kit from the 172 and mounted them into the A3. Plates also put on.

Next up where the wheels, imo they make a massive difference to the car.

I also have 20mm fk spacers for the back for when the coilovers arrive this week, it needs it

Laughing

More progress this week hopefully.

Cheers Very Happy

Its just a 1.8 20v. Im in the process of trying to find a crashed 1.8t to use as a donor.

Anyway, coilovers and spacers arrived so on they went. Didnt want to go much lower as the road to my house is full of pot holes. Ive done 300 miles since those pictures were taken on Friday and the springs have settled nicely. The gap from the tyres to the arches are 1 fingers width on all four corners

Laughing

Better pictures will follow, these were taken on the phone.
