For those who aren’t fortunate enough to head to La Sarthe this year, or if you just can’t get enough of Le Mans fever, the Autosport 1000km of Silverstone is a must-see event on the 2010 calendar, as all the fun, colour and ambience of the 24 Hours will be recreated right here in the UK. Star names such as Nigel Mansell, Allan McNish, Giancarlo Fisichella and Nicolas Minassian will do battle in the season finale of the Le Mans Series on September 10-12 in the behemoths of Le Mans from manufacturers like Audi, Peugeot, Aston Martin, BMW, Porsche and Ford. The Silverstone event is a firm favourite with the Le Mans Series regulars and fans alike, as it invariably produces a climactic finish to the championship. Last year, ex-F1 and touring car star, Jean-Christophe Boullion made it a thrilling finish, charging from last to first in just one hour of the endurance race.
