Well, he's been VERY quiet the last few months; He's alive and well, and has started work on the rally car again....... "Just waiting for aluminium flywheel from America, Aluminium front pulley from Canada and clutch from Northants to rebuild the rally car. then its exhaust downpipe and remap. (plenty of power!) The car will have … Ported and polished head with ARP stud and nut conversion and Multi layer steel head gasket, bespoke Piper cams (reprofiled 7A’s), tubular exhaust manifold, ports polished on inlet manifold, bosch green injectors, competition paddle clutch, bigger radiator, bigger oil cooler, competition engine, gearbox and diff mounts. Running 304mm and 4 pots callipers but looking at 330mm and 6 pots. Hydraulic handbrake being fitted this time too. The car has to still have standard K24 turbo with 34mm restrictor and standard intercooler but thinking of fitting some water jets to aid intercooler cooling." Yikes! We'll keep you posted.....

Alan Pemberton and Martin Young, driver and navigator respectively, in an Audi Coupe Quattro turbo rally car have raised £808.50 for the Marie Curie Cancer Care Charity. In February they competed in the North West Stages car rally based in Preston and organised by Motorsport Northwest a collaboration of seven of the North West motor and car clubs. As in previous years the main beneficiary of the event was Marie Curie Cancer Care. Competing crews in the rally were invited to seek sponsorship to help support this worthy cause. Alan from Stockport and Martin from Leyland both asked friends and work colleagues to support them in this fund raising event and only expected to raise about £300. Alan said ‘Everyone was so understanding and supportive…one motorsport acquaintance sponsored us £75, just because of the car we were competing in’.
