a4 2.5 tdi slugish?

hi. i have just bought a 2000 audi a4 2,5 tdi manual. i have noticedthat it feels a little slugish when i put my foot down. It seems as if when the turbo starts to kick in something limits its breathing. im new to all this and havent got a clue where to start. could itbe the MAF? or is there something common about these engine being like that? my 115 bora felt quicker than this thing. help!! thanks. Did you buy it like that or has it got worst?

Sounds like the MAF is a potential issue, you can test it by disconnecting it, and if the car is no better it is unlikely to be that, but if the car performs better that could be the problem.

Worth getting the car scanned too though, as it could be one of lots of issues, possibly the turbo could be coked up so much it restricts its boost? Or the fuel pump could be worn.

il do the maf check. i bought it like that. if i dnt put my foot to the floor it seems faster than if i floor it. i struggled to see off my mates 1.2 clio yesterday!! are these 2.5 tdi engines good? doesnt pull anything like the 150 vectra i had.

I seriously think your A4 is not running up to par. If my A6 was any quicker (even without its tuning module) I would need to strap on some wings!!

i dont know muy engine code. where cani find this? all i know is its a V reg audi 2,5 tdi se (tdi is all in silver). sometimes its torquier than others but its never as quick as i think it should be. the turbo is spoolin and ive got no lights on the dash. MAF sensor is the forst thing im gunna try n if it isnt that i havent got a clue.
