Don't know if you lot have found http://www.audivorsprung.com yet, but it's a mine of info for anyone interested in older Audis.
Some of you may know I've been having problems trying to identify the correct rear dampers for my Sport. Well the Daniel Olovsson, the chap who runs audivorsprung, has just replied to my email query and put the matter to rest. All 80's upto and includind chassis no. 81-D-.... used the same standard dampers and springs (including Sports/GTE's). In other words, not only did early Sports get basic brakes, but also a basic suspension package!

It was only the springs that were different. Daniel is a nice guy and I have paid many a visit to his site, there`s even a piccie of my Sport on there somewhere. Here is another link which may be of interest. http://www.typ82.info/link.html
