The a/c appears to be ok, nice & cold when on low but the fan in the engine bay doesn't run. Correct me if I'm wrong but I assumed it ran when the a/c is on "LO" regardless of the outside temp?? I assume there is a fuse that protects it but can't find ref to it in the owners manual. Any help guys please
UPDATE. I also have a slight coolant weep from around the Fan temp switch. So have ordered a new switch & seal ring. What is the capacity of the coolant for a 2003 2.5TDi 2003 with a BDG engine as I can't find any info in book or on the net. Thanks

After a lot of net searching. found this article http://www.audiworld.com/tech/eng65.shtml
Found I have 12 v to the plug with a/c switched on & 0 v when switched off. So the "fan" switch is working ok(will still change as it's weeping). Using probes on multimeter I have continuity on both wires from the plug to the Fan. So looks like the Fan has gone )Spins manually so not jammed by the rubber strip). Quite surprised by the power rating of the fan- 300W Shock

Fan & switch replaced. Managed to change switch quickly so not much coolant lost Smile . Had to remove bumper & pull front carrier away to replace fan. Fitted new engine shield(old one had a crack in it) plus new fasteners. everything ok job well done I thought. Until I wound down front pass window & their was a horrible noise. Cable snapped Mad Mad. So ordered new window regulator. Hope this is the last thing to go wrong. I must have walked under a ladder or kicked several black cats to have this much bad luck with car!!
