Hi chaps,

Im looking to swap my original delta head unit for a later concert one from an A4/A3 etc, with the volume knob in the centre? Is this a straight swap or are the plugs different etc? Ive got a CD changer also.
Thanks!

I pulled a delta out of a breakers and plugged it in to my B4 face lift A4 to test it. The A4 had a concert at the time. Same plugs so it must work the other way round.

The A4 did not have a CD multichanger at the time so that was not tested.

The A4 has a rear amp so not sure what impact that has.

Only other thought is there is a delta and a delta CC not sure of the difference possibly something to do with the multichanger.

The concert sounded better.

The rear speakers might be the issue. You might have to buy an amp or get one from an A4 for them to work.

But people do get it done. See pic. Looks better in my opinion to a badly fitting silver japanse stereo. But it might not sound as good! Embarassed

The CD multichanger part number look different in that earlier post so a bit of a gamble....

Next problem - reading some of the posts over in the
German cabrio site is the width . Cabrio seems to be 213mm where as Concert 1 is 220mm . Sad

Looks like there is more to the mod...

My Japanese stereo is great! Smile So modern it doesn't even have a CD player, MP3/iPod all the way! Smile

The gaps either side are a little annoying, but it's mostly black, so doesn't stand out too badly...

I have the factory subwoofer in mine, would that not have the amp already fitted?

Got one out of an A6. Works fine...apart from the CD changer doesnt work off it Sad

Also as already mentioned, the bezel is too wide so need to trim it down to suit.

Looks so much better and sounds brilliant!

Did the rear side speakers work? I thought they might have needed the amp.

Sony used to do a black one that was a good match with the orange/red lights to match the dash. Sounded good as well.

I think the subwoofer was an option, but every v6 (3 of them) I owned had one fitted. The 5cyl I had didn't.
