Seems like ABS pump is faulty causing drivers brakes to intermittently lock and fail.

Want to see if I can avoid paying huge audi prices, would anyone have one of these that needs a new home?

Thanks in advance!

If these are in any way similar to the Bosch 5.3 units fitted to A4's, the electronics module is prone to failure.

They can be repaired as change over units from various companies (probably several in UK) or from an Ebay shop in the USA (look up seller "Bosch0004" - amoungst others), at quite reasonable rates (US$85 + freight).

This does not require the removal of the ABS unit (and thus bleeding of brakes etc), just the electronics module - though the car may be undriveable with the module removed??
