Hi. I need help identifying what this part is and what it does. I think it needs replacing. I'm getting a whirring noise and just changed the water pump so not that.

hi the part on the vid is the brake accumulator and although its connected to the steering its for the brake servo .the car has a hydraulic brake servo no the normal vacumn servo this device (the bomb)stores up pressure to help apply the brakes ,hope this helps..allan
