Hi there, does anyone knows the part number of radiator fan switch? Also where exactly is it located? is it the one which connects to fan and you can reach it from top? any pictures info advice would help.
Thank you lads |

If it's like the 2.0 8v, it'll be down the bottom of the radiator on one side or other. it has a plug on the end of it and unbolts with a big open spanner (19mm plus iirc) Made of brass so easy to spot, but don't forget to put a washer in when you replace it. You'll lose a lot of coolant when you remove it so have a tray underneath so that antifreeze doesn't go everywhere! Don't know part no, sorry. |

Hello mate,
found it today.it is on the passenger side bottom corner.easy to reach from bottom but havent got spanner bigger than 15- bugger so when i remove it is it all coolant which will bleed? just hoping it is the switch which is causing fans not starting, iam not a big friend with wires and fuses:} thank so much for this post bud. will keep updated how i get on but if someone knows the part number it would be even better |

893 959 481 for a 2 pin
191 959 481 C for a 3 pin
N 043 808 C is the seal
pretty sure it's a 29mm spanner for removing it |

I think i used one of them plumbers wrench's on mine. dont need to be in super tight and no need to drain coolant if your quick, just make sure its cool when yo do it. |

yeah got one from ebay for 12 quid incl washer. getting new belts done next week so will change it with water pump once the coolant is out. hopefully the switch is the thing what causes fans not kicking in.... |

you should test the system before stabbing in the dark.
ignition on, disconnect the rad fan switch. use a bridge wire to join two of the wires together in the loom and verify the fan runs |

Lol did it this afternoon and bang fans are working. Just wondering- on the switch i bought reads 84 degrees. Does it mean the fans wil kick in at 84? that would mean they will be on all the time thanks mike |

84 degrees should be a clue.
Your thermostat opens at 87 so why would the fan start running before the thermostat has reach operating temperature |

hi luigi-3. the thermostat is correct, and the thermoswitch has 84 on it because it switches the fan on at 95 and off at 84 , its a two stage switch for low and high speed fan and it also comes on at 102 and off at 91 for high speed. had a look at the ebay links and seems to be right part numbers and spec. |
