Confused Confused Confused

Sometimes the tightening of the nuts / bolts in the wrong order can cause this.

Did you tighten them to the specified torque

Do you think a re skim of the head may be needed if everything else checks out?

I'm thinking that perhaps the head may be warped Evil or Very Mad got overheated at some point Question

there are different bolts that go with the rubber gasket than those used for the cork gasket, which may or may not be related to your problem, which gasket did audi sell you? something must be wrong if this is the third try and still leaking. are you using some gasket sealant on the half moon cresant transisions?
