I've seen it in a few 80 sport models, Not standard but must have been a factory option. There may be some limited edition model(s) that had it standard?

Hard to come by for an 80 saloon.

Avant interiors almost fit. Think you need to cut the catches and weld them in a different location. The catches on the car not the seats. Normally some S2 avants ant RS2 interiors kicking around.

I wonder how close a fit the a4 interior is.

I've got leather in my 90 quattro Very Happy

Optional extra when ordered.... don't see it that often (saw a beige/ "tan" one in a 90 20v once... Shocked )

there's posh ! I bet you just like to see passengers slipping out under the seat belt Very Happy

As yet I have not seen an 80 with leather interior, I get the feeling that when they were made the 90 was meant to be the 'posh' version ( not that mine has leather, and it's hard enough to get normal seat covers to fit the back seats )

I just found this on wiki, this may be the closest the 80 came to having leather..

In Europe, the 90 name was discontinued, and all saloons were badged as 80, regardless of which engine they had. Audi of America went the opposite direction, and began selling the saloon as the 90. B4s for the American market typically offered more luxury even in the standard version, such as automatic transmission, cruise control, air conditioning and leather seats, all of which were usually optional at additional cost (or standard) on European models.

the series 3 90 was the "upmarket" version of the 80; came with the 5 pot. The US spec 90's were V6, with HIDEOUS bumpers!

I'm pretty sure my 90 is as basic as they come- no leather and manual sunroof also the computer on dashboard verrry bland- but....its got 20v and goes extremely well Smile I think if it had leather seats I'd slide on corners like when I'm drivin the other halfs volvo Very Happy

was the 90 in the b4 guise not just marketed as an upmarket version of the 80? They both use the same b4 chassis do they not?

There never was a b4 90, only b3. Leather is over rated in my mind, it's cold in the winter and too hot in the summer and without good bolsters you slide round everywhere.

The B4 80 was badged as a 90 in America so he is correct, There was a B4 90.

Audioc the b3 90 was available in the normal 5 pots guises in the US, the B4 was when they brung in the V6s I think.

The 80 had some bad press in America, hence why the series 2 cars got the 4000 badge, and I presume why they never rereleased the 80.

I stand corrected then. I have enough trouble remembering specs of UK cars so never bothered with the US side of things Laughing

Well that's the answer to the slippery seats - get leather seats AND wear leather pants Very Happy

My bike leathers always kept a good grip on bike seats- don't fancy it much for the summer tho .....eerrgh
