Had a couple of days on my knee's fitting the FMIC kit I gathered up off of Ebay and various suppliers.
Stainless pipes were from Kiowa.
Clamps from Viper-performance.
Samco's from Ebay user- amberper.
Silicone hose from Ebay user - 1_regals_motorsport
IC from Ebay user - mx5-tuning
Stainless steel and Tig welding - in house
I also managed to find a decent place for the Power Steering cooler piping to sit - it worked out a treat
I used teck screws to fit it in position using the rubber mount washers, that come with them, as shock mounts for the brackets.
The car will be booked into MRC in the new year for a stage II re-map
Some pic's below of the proceedings:-
The bumper was a PITArse to fit back on.
Had to remove a fair bit of it internally, including a chunk out of the alloy cross member within it and a hole in the bottom, but got there in the end.
The damage to the bumper in the above piccy was there when I bought the car

He he, don't eat Bacon - am a semi veggie only eat chicken.
All out it took me about 3 days to complete over a period of a few weeks. Collating all the stuff and making a few mistakes all added to the project.
The first set of 3" alloy pipes I bought got binned as they where too big and not strong enough. The first set of hose couplers I bought where also crap so it was a case of I really learnt by my mistakes
As for improvement - It now pulls smooth and like a train from 4.5K which before it used to hesitate and not give smooth power output, for some reason ?
The turbo lag is slightly more but I can put up with that as the kick in the arse you now get +4.5K makes up for it
It's a bit weird really as when you floor it, the boost pressure is at max before the RPM reaches 4.5K ? It seems to hold off a little before 4.5K and then all hell lets loose
It's being booked in to MRC for one of their stage II re-maps just as soon as they re-open from their crimbo hols.
Hopefully that should sort the early hesitation

Not heard of anyone doing this lately, but I have a major boost leak either on the intercooler or near it and , if the intercooler is leaking it would be silly to leave it standard wouldn't it.

Hey well done ,proving it can be done on a euro bumpered urS6!! ive seen the guys in the states do this for years but they got so much space behind their bumpers.Akikol do a great f.m.i.c kit for the S4/S6 but not sure will fit behind the euro stock bumper as well as yours did.

Thanks Mate
I think I was lucky that the IC was just the right size - any bigger and I would have really struggled.

Hi there, picking up on this thread, I have just purchased an IC from mx5_tuning although the dimensions are a little different, IC measurement are 710mm total width, 230mm height and depth 65mm. I was hoping I could benefit from your hard work and knowledge and ask what type and size of silicone hoses you had from ebay supplier 1_regals_motorsport. Many Thanks
