Audi 80 ACE 16v coil

Hi, I recently had my coil die on a roundabout during rush hour. Stopping me dead in my tracks. One of the previous owners had swapped the electrical larger connector (on a separate amplifier) to the smaller connector (integrated) of the B4 2.0 8v model not the 16v model. To save myself some money and hassle I decided to swap like for like. Are there downsides to running an 8v coil on the 16v engine? Should I revert to stock?

It seemed to run fine at the start but it has developed some misfire conditions when cold (1st 30 minutes). It runs strongly after that with no loss of power.

Other points the clutch + release bearing + rear main seal appear to be at the end of its life.
