I am having to replace the rear discs and am envisaging myself fighting under the car to get them off. Are there any tips i should be aware of?
Thanks. Smile

The rear caliper brackets are fastened with socket cap bolts and as rear discs get changed infrequently they rust up so much and end up rounding out. On almost all my cars I've had to either cut the head off, or welding a hex bolt on to the head and removing that way.
In any case, lots of penetrating oil and some heat to crack off the rust will help and get a good poke round in the bolt head to clean the muck out.
If the bolts go though the hub and thread into the caliper carrier, it may just be easier to cut the heads off and then remove the studs with the carrier in a vice, lots of heat and some good mole grips will see them out OK.
After you've removed them, clean up the treads with a tap and get some new bolts in there. ETKA list bolt p/n as N 0199123 - M10x1.25 x 20.
Should only be a few quid.
Tightening torque of something like 55NM but this will need to be confirmed

Thanks Andy, I don't think I will have problems with the calipers as they were off two years ago and I recently changed back to summer tyres. There was just surface rust on them so a liberal soaking will hopefully take care of them. What I am more concerned about is the discs. Rolling Eyes
Happy Easter!
