TT mpg/trip fault

Hi guys,

my 53 plate TT 225q roadster needed a jump start and has since developed a fault.
Battery was not completely flat and it runs fine but, The MPG/trip part at the bottom of the DIS now only displays 0:00 and is constantlly flashing.
Pressing the buttons on the stalk to cycle through the display or turn it off do nothing at all.
I had VCDS on it and no fault codes found.

Any ideas much appreciated.

Tried disconnecting battery and it worked. All mpg/trip functions back to normal. Simple fix but worth knowing for future reference.
