quattro avant rear dampers

Anybody know the part number for the 2.5TDi quattro avant rear dampers?

I read somewhere that all the late UK spec cars had sports suspension as std, but I can't find a sport damper in ETKA. They list them by colour, white, pink or violet.

do you know what colour yours is marked with? my etka lists two types for AEL, sport yellow mark b 4A0 513 031D, or white ,std?, b 4a9 513 031C, hth.

Mine are non-OE at present and somebody has butchered the rears to make them fit Sad

The yellow marked one you listed is a front, in my copy of ETKA there is no sport listed for the rear, only the white marked one you listed. Is this a sport damper?

i just double checked and it says rear sports 4a0 513 031D yellow ael etc avant, did a web search and defo rear

Can anybody confirm that saloon and avant are the same on the rear?

I can confirm that the fwd and the quattro have different rear dampers - completely different top fixings...

Sachs/boge list the same parts for both Avant and regular quattro:

Sachs 170 819
Boge 32 505 F

Be careful, the UK quattro's came with the sport pack so used different top mounts to most A6s - its possible that the non-sport quattros use the same top mounts as FWD cars. Of course, I've not actually looked at FWD sport top mounts and may well be wrong, this is just a warning to check this carefully.

Even my tame parts guy had trouble identifying the correct ones for my 2.5TDi quattro Avant a few years back. The only place I could find dampers with the correct top mounts were from Audi - they are gas struts made by Boge, and were (for Audi) reasonably priced, I remember...

i think the manufacturers fine tune the shocks/springs and aftermarket make an all rounder
