one extra thing i would do whilst the heater box is out is have a good look at the control flaps because the foam stuff on them crumbles/ falls apart and then you just get warm air going everywhere, when i changed my matrix i used metal tape on one flap and should have done all of them because im getting bits of brown foam popping out of the vents now and then as the foam breaks up.im not a mechanic but willing to have a go and i did the job on my own in 6-8 hours taking it slow, no special tools/knowlegde needed for non air con.

Not just everywhere you will also get mediocre heat Sad
I had my dash out at the beginning of the year to do this job now I have to take it out again because no-one was paying any real attention to the flaps Rolling Eyes
