Well lets start with the car it's a 2001 S8. I've read a couple of the other threads watched the video's and replaced the fuel pump and filter. I jumped the pump with the filter off and gas came out of the line into it. Put it together and jump in the car ready to go and nothing it just cranked on the starter.
Then I came apon another thread about someone putting in a new crank sensor and their problem was solved. So I guess this must be it so get a new sensor install it and crank her over and nothing. Crap now what could it be.
I then start to check to see if it's getting gas. Fuel rail is bone dry nothing in it at all not even damp.
So I remove the pressure regulator and jump the pump to prime the line and fuel rail. So I let it go for a couple of minutes and still no fuel. Huh?
So I go to the load side of the fuel filter and remove the fitting and jumper the pump. Weehoo gas starts to come out but not very fast.
Now here is the dilema how come I can't get gas to go to the motor? I'm thinking about blowing out the line from the motor to the fuel pump.
Just to see if there might be a blockage. Could something else be amis with the fuel pump install I'm missing?

I'd forget the blockage (just doesn't happen)...99% of the time it's an improper install...there are a lot of things that can go wrong then, even with the most careful installations.

Was the car completely disabled (totally failed pump) before you changed the pump?

Please carefully read this entire very recent thread below. Even though the solution may not be your problem, it's packed full of things to check and 1st hand knowledge...particularly the posts from Brian and the original poster, Martin.
