water leaks into car

Hi there guys, just a note to add to this, on all my audi 80,s water finds its way in via the sun roof motor, it seems to get into the cables that move the roof and creep along this until it escapes thro the motor, then runs along the roof trim down the windscreen side trim and down to the carpet, a hint of this is rust on the motor but not always, cure is lots of grease onto the cable which has a hairy covering both at the motor drive it back and forth and when the roof is open remove the cable cover and push grease in it. This problem is agravated if the car is not parked on the level

To add to this problem, water in the passenger side could be coming from the seal between the heater air filter and the fan inside the car, often happens if car is parked off level, best to remove the filter housing and replace the seal between it and the body. Another odd leak hides behind the small panel covering the bottom of the A post, remove this panel and you will find a small bit of plastic film glued over an opening, make sure this is sealed all round or replace.
