Apologies for posting this again, but I cannot find out how to access the archives to see if this subject has already been answered.

Plenty of people have seen my other posting but as yet no answers so I guess I'm the only one with one of these.

I'm looking for the correct 'O' ring which seems to be fitted inside the top hose outlet on the Radiator. Mine has the push in type of hose with a big circlip to secure. In trying to trace a water leak I need to eliminate the top hose seal.

Since my water header tank has shown a drop in level ...and I've replaced the coolant....and checked all the obvious hoses....the water is getting discoloured as well. this suggests the head gasket is on its way out to me. However....the car runs really well with no loss of power....regularly does 50MPG no matter how I drive it....and since I have been running it for 18 months like this am convinced the head would have either got worse by now...or blown up.
Any help most appreciated please.
Cheers. Rossgorooster.

i think why you are not getting a reply is i dont know if the rad hose has an o ring at the rad end, if thats what you mean??, take a pic and put it in the post, maybe that will help, if you mean the end that goes to the engine, the seal that is in that flange is 36 x 3.15mm.

Many thanks for your reply Merton. It is the radiator top hose at the radiator end that I'm asking about. As soon as I get chance I'll take a pic or two and upload.
Cheers. Bob.

trying to look in the audi parts software i couldn't see any o rings listed for the connections but loooking at the repair manual it shows in one pic a connection push on type that is held with a clip but no o ring mentioned, do you have the old one?

Sorry for the delay in replying to you Merton....I am so busy at the mo I havn't even had time to look at it lately.....I have not taken the old one out in case I cannot get another....or I may bust it in the process. I have to do a lot of miles over the next couple of weeks and after that if no other issues I'll chase this up properly. My only other thought is that I might go to a local Rad specialist for info.
Cheers. and thanks again.

there are sets of o rings on ebay for less than a tenner, as long as your hose isn't too big, i think thats what i would do if i cant get the info for the size, maybe an audi dealers is the best place.
