As per the title, a small price of plastic broke from the dip stick handle and fell down the tube into the sump. Should I be worried.

Thanks tony.
Car is a 1.8t cabriolet b6 model [/b]

It'll not get through the oil pickup strainer and should come out on the next oil change, so no immediate worry of it damaging anything.
Though it's best to remember, the 1.8T is well known for lot of rubbish in the sump blocking the strainer. Oil pressure warning light will eventually notify you to this problem.
Well recommended to get the sump off and the strainer checked if you are over 100k and the car was/is on a longlife service schedule.
This was what my oil pickup strainer looked like at 105k on longlife servicing (REALLY hate this poor mans servicing offered by Audi)

As you can see, a bit of dipstick plastic was in mine too.

Thanks for the reply, that's quite some sludge build up, I had heard of this problem on the 1.8t but never seen quite how bad it might be. Our car is only on 66k but has had the audi scrimpo long life services in its past. I intend on doing 6 month regular oil changes but still might get the pipe checked at a 100k like you say. Cheers and merry Christmas, tony.
