Shocked Shocked.
He might have been a cantankerous old coot to a few, but you can't deny he knew his onions when it came to the UR quattro.

Read the last few paragraphs of his autobiography page of his well known site >>>> Linky
Seems he may have closed the door himself.

RIP...

I had never met the guy, but to his credit have heard from many about his level of knowledge and commitment to the marque.

Sadly Jase it seems that you may be correct. Extracted from another forum, so not my words....

"Sadly, Phil didn't simply pass away. He took his own life, at home, on his own. He had programmed his phone to send emails/messages after he had died and hence one or two got messages from him up to and including Friday. He did that to his son (Tom) too, and also posted his mobile phone to him in the mail. Upon getting the message, his son rang the police to look at his flat and make the discovery."

No matter what the circumstances are, that's a hell of a sad way to turn out the lights.
RIP Phil.

He was with me when I bought my quattro.

He was always helpful on the phone. He will be missed.

Again, words fail me at times. Knew his onions, wasn't often wrong (although wouldn't admit when he was- and I'm not speaking "ill" of him)

Shame- no matter who you are/ why/ how- things shouldn't get that bad to decide to end it all yourself.....
