Makes a change for me to post in this section and not my usual home of the C4 S6 forums....
About 6 months ago I went ahead purchased a 2007 Audi A4 2.0TS quattro S-line (220 bhp)
What a car Very Happy
One owner, FASH, 37,000 on the clock. Got a great deal from work.
As a bonus I managed to sell the Skoda Fabia vRS I've had since 2008
The wife was less than impressed as she had no knowledge that I bought this and sold the other car.....
I still have the 80 quattro Saloon (S2 hybrid) which is staying.
Plans....hmmm seriously thinking of getting a 270 bhp chip and retrofitting the Audi MMI Sat Nav Plus.
Have almost ordered all the parts for this except the double DIN console.

Only had the car about 2 weeks before I did this.....
I wanted to get rid of the Concert radio and install the RNS-E SatNav unit
This was not an easy task.
Had to take away the arm rest, glove box, the plastic cover underneath the steering wheel, center console, A/C unit, gear box gaiter, ash tray, the little self behind the ash tray, switches, drink holder and the console which holds the radio and A/C unit in place
Out with the old radio
Glove box out
Drivers panel out
Ash tray, shelf and gear box gaiter removed
Arm rest out, rear ash tray gone - allows access to the center console bolts
Center console out
Single DIN console holder removed, this was replaced with a double DIN one.
Just connected up to see if it works OK
Had to cut out a small section of the center console
and cut up half of the little tray which sits behind the ash tray
Old console on the left, new double DIN on the right
In place
Refitting it all, up behind the glove box was an excellent mounting place for the GPS receiver.
Job Done!
I just over did it when I had to cut/trim the sides down on the A/C unit to make it fit as it tappers inwards. |

Had a set of 19" RS4 alloys in black which I used to have on my S6. These fitted a treat

Cheers Jas
Just been catching up with whats been happening with you
Cracking work on the fleet (as always) and a dad as well!!!
Hope your not getting too many sleepless nights
Last time we had a chat was briefly at SH this time last year, how you been?
Future plans....install a iPod cable with a AUX using one of the blanks by the hazard switch.
Audi hands free integrated into the RNS-E and multifunction steering wheel.
Fit the auto leveling system for the headlights, fit decent headlights.
Rear LED headlights
That little lot should keep me broke and busy |

Looks great Mark!
Nice guide on the RNSe, I really must get on and do this. It modernises the cabin so much, that and some new aluminium trim (wrap) will tidy mine up inside no end.
I look forward to seeing regular progress reports |

James, the RNS-E unit I got new off from ebay.
The double DIN came from work 8E0 858 005E they do come up on ebay quite often.
The cable kit and GPS receiver came from Kufatec http://www.kufatec.de/shop/
Get yourself this
Ideal for removing trim etc without damaging it
Been looking at the RS4 front grill, a chrome pedal & foot rest set.
Also thinking of changing out the yellow interior lights for white ones. |

Jas - whats the MMI box?
Google hasn't really revealed that much...
Allan, it took about 6 hours in the end.
I really didn't want to rush and break stuff that usually happens when I under take anything like this and it normally turns out to be expensive parts or they're NLA |

Completely missed this, but would have at the time as I was away with work
I bought this unit here >>>> Linky
And this camera here >>>> Linky
I've not fitted it yet. As with everything car related now, I've got to find the time, what with work being nuts and having Charlotte.
Allie also takes a fair bit of looking after too. She's still mildly insane |

No surprises there then
Cheers for the links.
Would I be able to connect my iPod to this?
I have been looking at:
http://www.kufatec.de/shop/en/Audi/A3-8P-/-8PA-/-Cabrio/AUX-IN-Jack-Retrofit-Audi-RNS-E?tab=cross
But I'm certain the iPod won't charge at the same time
I haven't done anything else to the A4 just now.
Although I need to fix an issue with the passenger rear door seal.
When it rains the water doesn't drain away.
So when you open the door it all pours out and soaks your feet
I'm still battling on with the 80q that is giving me severe grief (HC's of 130, need 100 or less for the MOT) |

I missed this as well... I may borrow bits for a write up for Auditorium, if that's ok?
The "newer" dash and stuff are a complete PITA to work on; the series 3 /4 stuff- doddle- you get get to most bits without having to rip the interior of the car apart. I was "shocked" (read: pi$$ed off) with the wife's mk1 A3 when I fitted the car kit and replacement head unit. Was a complete git to get at/ change. And the lower part of the gearbox surround to the lower dash has foam trim filler bits...! Not as well made as earlier ones. The new (mk3) A3 is a different kettle of fish. The MMI unit/ nav/ controls in that are the dogs danglies
So you sold the wife's Skoda- but this is your car? Down to one and a half cars now? (half being the 80 until you get it sorted) |

I've got a .pdf file of the RNS-E fitment (I'll mail it over to you).
Wife's blue Skoda - sold.
My Fabia vRS - sold.
Wife now has a Fiesta ST
Yep this A4 is mine, got a good deal at work.
And I still have the 80q S2 Saloon rep. (got brand new front and rear S2 bumpers waiting for me at work for free!). |

I do like the Golf 6. Sad to see the A4 go though
Is that the equivalent of a Bluemotion over here? |

I was gutted to see the A4 go
Yep, Blue Motion Technology. Although most of them come in the 105bhp guise. Quite lucky as this is a 140bhp - no slouch but incredible mpg
Just got this on the way back from work. I was in no hurry, set the cruise on 80kpm (50mph), average 3.6 l/100km = 78.47mpg!
