Jase does this oil sludge issue affect the 2.0T engines as well?

That's good advice Jas. I don't think I need bother yet with only 30k on the clock and oil changes at 8 or 9k miles. All Audi services so far with free mot's.

As far as I'm aware this problem only affects the 1.8T engine, but if you have any petrol turbo it's one to be aware of.

Thanks.....I remember something similar with my old Saab 93 Aero and sump muck causing all sorts of hassles with their engines too!
How many hours labour was the job....do you know?....Parts are not a problem for me up in IKEA land ...it's the labour rate plus 25% vat! Sad

At long last, finally found time to fit my cruise control today.
Steering wheel/airbag off, slipring off, stalks off, upper and lower cowls and drivers tray off.
Changed control module over from my "S" to an "N" so it would accept the cruise coding.
All put back together and fired up the lappy..

Only lappy didn't want to Evil or Very Mad

HDD corrupt. So no vagcom to code it. BUGGER.
Now got an ABS warning beeping and glowing an angry red at me from the dash. It'll continue until I get it coded.
Kind member of audi-sport.net's B6 forum is going to do it for me on Saturday.

Sorry James, missed your post.

Not got a replacement lappy yet. I'll also need to get a new vagcom cable, as mine is ancient and uses a serial connection.
Not going to find a new lappy with a serial connection, so new lead with USB needed. I know I could use a serial to USB converter, but they are flaky and it gives the opportunity to upgrade to a can-bus compatible lead as mine currently isn't.

My vagcom is legit, but is from way back in 2004 and I've lost all correspondence with Ross-tech.

Not a lot to see, but here's a couple of pictures anyway.
Must say, the newer B6 style cruise is way better in operation to the cruise in the RS4 (which is the same as all earlier Audi's)

I love my cruise, I use it loads.

Not good needing a new cable too! User NHN on ASN does them at a good price.

Ohh, long time no update. Just shows how much time kids take up.
Had every intention of giving the A4 and RS4 a good detail over the holidays, but so far all it's done is bleedin rain. Can't complain too much after seeing all those poor peeps being flooded again around the country.

Anyhoo, bought some LED foglight bulbs way back in September and just fitted them today. Big difference in colour and they now match the LED sides and HID's.
Also just may be able to see on one pic the damage to my front bumper.
Stupid suicidal rabbit decided to exit this world by head butting it at 70mph+ on the motorway the other week.
Hope he had a headache Laughing

I'll get it and the bonnet (stone chips) resprayed next spring/summer.
