You guys seen how cheap the A4 cab is getting now ? Im seeing as little as £4K. Id be tempted to chop in mine for one, but Im not up to speed on the best engine choice etc and trim levels ?
Ive seen a nice looking 2004 3.0 (v6 I assume ?), black, beige leather, looks stunning with about 70K I think on the clock for under £6K.
Are they srewed together as well as the older cars ???

Hi, know what you mean, I was looking at a 4.2 A4 cab (54 plate) with all the whistles and bells, very, very low mileage, leather, satnav, phone the full monty and dirt cheap (but not to run), then I look outside at the white cabbie and think, nah and as skinhead O'Connor sings Nothing compares to you...............lalalala.

The B4 has such a good shape. Dont think the new one compares.
Diesel and 4x4 are the things that would make me put up with the poorer shape.
Regard the build quality, It would be interesting to compare the weight of the old car with the new. I know its bad for fuel consumption and acceleration but the Audi 80 was one of those indestructible cars. You can see it when you take them apart in the breakers - they look as though they just rolled off the production line.

Ha! So the cabby's now indoors with its wheels up in front of the fire while you languish outside in the cold and wet....

I'm afraid I don't likes em. The B4 was a great shape, they went a little erm, plain after that.
Not that they look bad, but there's far too many of them and they all are grey or dull colours. I'm sure they are great cars, but they don't set my mind on fire when I think about them. Just a little plain.
The A5 cabrio is the first Audi in years I actually want, it's gorgeous!

I guess the thing about A4 cabs is there everywhere (just like Saab 9-3's and BMW 3 series cabs). Having an older car makes you stand out a bit. Even the guy who came to repair my washing machine last week gave me a compliment on my cabbie
But your right about the A5 cab. Id never knew they were about untill I saw one a while ago, in white. It looked great
