Ive had my year 2000 final edition cabriolet for 3 years now. Im seeing some adds for say 2004 A4 cabs for around £6k (ballpark).
Is there a "best" engine variant (I prefer petrol and auto box, only do about 4,000 miles per year in it) mpg not toooo critical (average over 25 mpg is ok)
I like my toys so assume the big engine cars are more likely to be loaded as standard ?
Are the 3.0 and 2.4 V 6's ?. Are the auto boxes reliable ?
Do they get tilt/slide steering ?
Thanks

The 3.0 and 2.4 are V6's. The 2.4 doesn't have a great reputation as it's as thirsty as the 3.0 but as fast as the 1.8T. The 1.8T is probably the most popular option.
Spec wise what you says can apply, but a lot of Audi's were pretty spartan from the factory, so it depends what the owner specificed on ordering.
I don't know much about the auto boxes, be aware of the issues with multitronics which haven't had the 7 plate clutch conversion done.
