Hello.
Im looking for some advise really. Im linking of getting myself in the driving seat of an A4. I have always liked the look of these cars. Can you kind folk give me some help on what to look out for before buying and what the running cost are likely to be. My last couple of cars I have changed the timing belt as a priority soon after purchase so I would be looking at this for the A4 (unless the car comes with proof this has been done recently) So what kind of money would I be looking at for timing belt replacement and other common repair bills. Thanks

It's usually £400 - 600 depending on engine, to include water pump, thermostat and all ancillaries.
What age and model of car are you looking for? Most issues are engine specific, but some general ones include slow wipers, dodgy aircon, broken wires in the door hinge, broken glovebox hinge, blocked plenum drains etc.

My budget would only allow me either a B5-B6 model I think.
