Don't know where to start with this one, any hints? Apparently it died when the timing belt was done with by the last guy who owned it.

It's a 2.8.

tacho signal is usually from a switch on the gearbox so not related to a timing belt

Ok, wee update on this one, took the clocks out of my 2.6 and put them in this 2.8, the rev counter works. Are there any common problems with the clocks that could kill a rev counter?

I'm stripping them down now, but am struggling to see any broken connections, the voltage regulator has already been fixed.

The only difference between the clocks are that the 2.6 doesn't have auto check, but the 2.8 does.

Does anyone know anyone selling a set of clocks with less than 79k on them!? Smile

Another update, took it to bits, followed and re-soldered every connector and joint on the circuit board that looked in any way connected to the rev counter, wired it all back together and it works! Smile

Still no idea where the break was, the soldering must have fixed it, simply re seating the wires has been done 4 or 5 times. Oh well, that's why I love electrics! Smile
