80 tdi air-con!!

Once again just wondering if the 80 tdi was availiable with air-con?

If it was, were there many made or is it a hens tooth. Has anybody tried to put the climatronic system into a b4. Anybody got any ideas?

it is possible to install Climatronic into Audi B4, but remember that many parts are too expensive.

usually Climatronic was installed into audi with V6 engine, and 1.9 and 2.0 had a simple air conditioner.

i agree ...

if you had a system from a V6 it would use loads of hp to run it. You would need to buy a complete car if you wanted to do a conversion and personally i doubt it would work correctly after being disturbed like old fridges and freezers

the climate controlled versions with buttons as opposed to knobs only came in the US models i think

Cheers for the replies, the reason I posted was I fancied air-con on the cab I'm putting the tdi in. Thought it'd be good to put on air-con to demist the windows because there would probably be more condensation in a cab than a normal saloon!

Anyway I got the air-con setup of a v6 coupe. Came with all pipes, radiator, pump,wiring loom and heater box. The pipes will need to be modified to fit the tdi engine and the thing I'll need to try and get is a compressor bracket for the 1Z engine which I think is fairly rare.

I'm not in to big a hurry to get the air-con working as soon as the car is built though I'll build in the heater box and wiring when reassembling.
