I've not had chance to give this site the attention it deserves... my bad.
I've "stood down" from the Audi Owners Club, for various reasons. Hopefully I'll get to spend some time on the issues the site has (mainly "back end" you guys don't see.) The club STILL offers things you CAN'T get from ANY internet forum/ website, and is worth joining. www.audiownersclub.co.uk
It may take me a few months, and may cause "havoc" for a while; If you have "issues" either pm me or email me- andy DOT bowskill@audiclub.co.uk
I'll attempt to sort the back end issues out, and the "theme" so it works all the time as it should. Back end you don't see, but affects everything you do see.
As I no longer have to be the "face" of an organisation, and this is MY site- if you don't like it, or don't agree, go elsewhere. I'm not interested in politics- you don't like it, tough. I'm paying the bill, and don't give a rats a$$.
I'll gladly BAN anybody that's an ar$e.
There will be some additional features added, over time- just bear with me. This is meant to be a resource for ALL Audi owners, regardless of age, model OR condition- with one aim- keeping cars "on the road".
Any issues with this, feel free to email me, or send me a PM
Enjoy your stay

That's cool. No problems here
Andy: I work in IT, and if you ever need help with stuff like SQL etc, just give me a shout and I'll help if I can.
Cheers.

cheers matey- I'll remember that; one of the issues is that I can't change/ upgrade the database because there are too many bits in the table- need to work out which are "surplus" so I can drop them from the table then do the migration....
Other issue is the theme- it's a "mishmash" of 2 themes- one uses tables, the other uses div -and they don't "play nice" lol.
I've been doing some pho stuff at work this last week, getting me "back into it" (Trellis Helpdesk with some nice "tweaks"- which needed fixing, once I'd converted the files from Spanish to English... )

If you're using MS SQL, I think that there's an option to run an export on the database, and where you choose what columns you want to export, then you can re-import this back into an empty database - I'll have a poke around at a few databases on the different versions of SQL we've got here later when I've got some free time and see what I can find.
I'm only just starting with programming/php. I built my first object in ASP.NET just last week. Well chuffed... so you'll probably be ahead of me with this.

I prefer php to asp (although limited experience)- I should be able to just remove the columns in phpmyadmin easily enough. I'm not going to get chance to look at this now for 2 weeks or so, as they've changed my shift at work for the next 2 weeks....

first change; events section. This is for ANY registered user to advise other users of events; please note!: This site DOES NOT organise attendance at events; we will not allow ANYONE to go to an event, or attend an events as "audifans.net" or "audifans" - simple. I don't want the aggro- if you want to do something like that, I'd suggest something like the Audi Owners Club that is insured specifically for this type of thing. There is a calendar application for the site, but it's out of date and I need to "fix" the other issues first before I can set it up... this is a quick and dirty way of doing it (like the classifieds)

..and I'm like a kid in a sweet shop!
Just backed the database up;
Any of you with photos in the gallery:- do NOT try to add any more- I'm not sure if that feature will stay, be upgraded, or replaced. The additional functionality may make it redundant soon anyway.... I've managed to take a backup, but take backups of your own photos, "just in case" ......
The database backup was 900+ Mb ( ) -thankfully it was zipped before I managed to download it. This is for testing purposes only (on a different server) so I can try to find where any "issues" may lie in the upgrades/ tweaks/ etc.
