Sad I've got a brake fluid leak from that little boxy looking thing near the offside rear wheel, NOT the caliper, but Im assuming that thing which equalizers brake effort?

Is it repairable or time for a scrounge for second hand. And what the bloody hell is the proper name for it.

Hi Dez,a man after my own heart " whatever the bloody thing is called" Laughing .Its not repairable mate, people call it different names,PRV - pressure reducing/regulating valve, brake proportioning valve,is it like a square block with a small 'arm' on it?i'm pretty sure thats what your after.I do have a brand new one in my desk drawer at work, but being the selfish Brummie 5hite that i am,i'm affraid i'll be keeping that for my own Coupe (just in case)But i think i do have a second hand 1 some where in my garage Dez,let me know if you get stuck, and i'll have a hunt about for it,if i can find it,your more than welcome to it matey (foc) Very Happy

yaaaay cheers mi lad. It's a proper stinker of a leak, thought the brake pedal felt a bit spongey yesterday, went to work, then when i got out of work theres a nice puddle under car, instantly recognise its brake fluid, has a quick butchers and it has a right old drip. Mad went to garage got some brake fluid and rimmed it to hope it lasts overnight. Sad ah well.

I need one sharpish, Im gonna have a phone about tommorow, probarbly an audi only bit, and most likely expensive, so it would be great if you have one. Do you know if they are interchangable accross the range.?

Thats the little beasty.Dez,i have a mate that works at EURO,so if you do decide to get it from there, speak to me 1st,and i'll have a word to see if we can save you some £££££££££££'s,you don't know if you don't ask Smile Other than that, try these guys, you probably know of them,TPS these guys are the 'trade' side of the main stealers.I only have the Birmingham number 0121 380 0820 but give them a try also, you should only need the reg of the car,and there may be a branch nearer to you.And finally, text me the reg of your car,and i'll have a look if TRW (GIRLING as was)list it mate,0790 0096684.

hth Wink

ps,not sure, but i may be able to get into the garage Wednesday night Dez,BUT,not 100% i still have it tbh,and also i got it as a working part in a job lot of bits i bought some time back,so obviously can't guarantee its condition.Cheers.

you can search on ebay for vw golf etc and you can use the ones from ford escort vans. If you find one for the van there about £47 new which is about 2/3 the price of a VAG one

Had a nosey today and confirmed the valve is leaking.
As i really do need it sorted fast I orderd one from euro carparts.
Everywhere else is NLA. Rolling Eyes

And in the end I thought it'd be worth that bit more for new. Only annoying thing is they have a 30% off if you spend over £39.99 which I didnt find out till after I ordered. Mad Mad Mad Mad Use code Service30 for 30% off. Evil or Very Mad
